File Scan
In File Scan, you can configure the settings for File Scan.
File Scan
Enable
Diagnostic Scan: Select whether to use Diagnostic Scan. It scans running
processes first before starting scan, and if there is a malicious
process being run, it stops the process. When malware is detected,
it repairs or delete it according to the set actions.
Scan Target
- Scan all files: Scan all files in the directory
to scan. Default value is Scan
all files.
- Scan vulnerable files only: Scan files vulnerable
to malware only. It takes shorter time than Scan all files, but there
can be undetectable malware because not all files are scanned.
- Extensions to additionally scan: You can enter
extensions to additionally scan. If you enter several extensions,
use / to divide.
- Smart
Scan: Skip the scan subject without changes after the last scan in
File Scan and Scheduled Scan. It may shorten the scan time as files
with no change history are excluded from file scan. You can enter
from 2 to 30 days for cache retention period.
- Limit the maximum file size: Exclude files with
exceeded size from scan. It takes shorter time than Scan all files,
but there can be undetectable malware because not all files are scanned.
You can limit the file size from 1 to 2000MB.
- Scan compressed files: Scan compressed
files. If a file within a compressed file is infected by malware,
it may scan for protection. If you set to scan compressed files, it
may take longer time according to the size and number of the file,
and whether it is multicompression or not. Default
value is Do not use.
- NFS
Scan: Scan NFS file system. This feature is basically enabled, so
that you have to disable the setting if you want to exclude files
in the NFS directory from scan.
Cleaning Actions
The methods to clean malware can
be selected among Ignore, Clean, and Delete. Default value is Clean.
As for the infected compressed files, you can select actions among Ignore and Delete,
default value is Ignore.
- Actions: You can select actions to take when
malware is detected.
- Ignore: Ignore even if malware or infected
compressed files are detected.
- Clean: Clean when malware is detected.
- Delete: Delete if malware and infected compressed
files are detected.
- Automatically clean: Automatically clean detected
items. Default value is Do not
use.
- Send all infected files to Quarantine before
taking action: Backup infected files in Quarantine before repairing
or deleting. It is recommended to select this because you can restore
the file if it is important or is turned out to be normal. Default
value is Use.
Advanced Settings
- CPU
Usage: Select the CPU usage while scanning among High,
Medium, Low, Very Low, and Lowest.
Default value is High. Medium and Low use averagely less CPU than
High.
