Blocking Malicious Websites
On this page, you can activate defense feature against malicious website
which prevent you from accessing to malicious websites that lead to phishing
sites or downloading malicious files, as well as user-specified blocked
sites. When you try to access a blocked site, access is denied and a website
block page appears. By registering harmful websites such as adult sites
or gambling sites, or sites that are prohibited from being accessed by
a company or organization, you can prevent problems caused by accessing
harmful sites.
To block Malicious Websites, complete the
following steps:
- Open V3 Net 9.0.
- Click Settings

and go to Network Protection > Content Filtering.
- Click on Malicious Website
tab.
- Specify the respective settings – Malicious
Websites Blocking Options and Site Filtering.
- If you want to apply the default settings, click
Default.
- Click Apply to
apply the settings.
- Click OK to close
the open window.
Malicious
Websites Blocking Options
You can configure options for blocking malicious websites by selecting
the check box of Block malicious sites and the options below.
- Block malicious websites: Select whether to
enable malicious website blocking feature. Malicious websites refer
to types of websites that tamper with a legitimate website and cause
users to download malicious code when they access the site. These
sites are identified based on the site addresses collected by the
AhnLab Smart Defense
cloud server.
- Run on Monitoring Mode: Select the check box
to run on monitoring mode for malicious websites. When enabled, it
only detects malicious websites without blocking them.
- Block phishing websites: phishing websites
are fraudulent sites that deceive users, determined based on the Anti-Phishing
Working Group's database. Select the check box to enable phishing
websites blocking.
- Block potentially unwanted websites: Potentially
Unwanted Websites (PUS) do not distribute malware or qualify as phishing
sites but may prompt the installation of potentially unwanted programs
(PUP) or redirect users to irrelevant sites. Select the check box
to block potentially unwanted websites.
Note
For the Malicious Website Block
feature to work properly on Chrome based browser, you must delete
all cached data in the browsing data. To delete, go to Settings
> Privacy and security > Delete Browsing data. |
Site Filtering
Site Filtering enables users to add a list of sites they trust or want
to block. To use Site Filtering, you must select the check box of Block
malicious websites.
- URL: Enter the URL of the website to allow/block.
- Allow: Register the website you enter the URL
as allowed website.
- Block: Register the website you enter the URL
as blocked website.
- Delete: Delete the website registered in the
site filtering list.
Note
Websites set by user can be added up to 300 URLs and https supports
only top-level domains. |
