Agent Settings

You can add or edit details related to the agent settings of the HIPS Agent Policy.

From Agent, you can:

• Enable HIPS Self-Defense Settings
• HIPS Agent Operation

Agent

Follow the steps below to add Agent of HIPS agent policy.

Note

To apply the default value of the agent settings, click Default from bottom of the screen.

1. Click Policy.
2. Select the Security Program Policy tab.
3. Click Add > HIPS/Firewall > HIPS Agent Policy. Set required information in Agent.

• Interval: Set interval.
• Integrity Check Interval: Set integrity check interval for HIPS Agent. The integrity check scans to find out whether there is a downloaded update file that is violated or infected. You can enter a value between 30 and 240 minutes for the integrity check interval. (Default: 60)

• Enable HIPS Self-Defense: Blocks the unauthorized program from changing folders, processes, and registries related to agent programs. Also blocks programs other than HIPS agent from accessing processes, registries, and installation folders used by HIPS agent. You can select content to protect in process, registry, and installation folder.
• Install Folder: Blocks programs other than HIPS agent from attempting to change or delete files related to HIPS agent.
• Process: Blocks programs other than HIPS agent from terminating HIPS agent process.
• Registry: Blocks programs other than HIPS agent from attempting to change or delete registries related to HIPS agent.

• Use HIPS Watchdog service: Uses Watchdog service which checks for abnormal operations of agent service.
• HIPS Agent Operation: Sets information on HIPS agent operation.
• Uninstall Agent: Set status of deletion upon exiting agent.
• Allow After Password Input: Allows deletion of agent only after entering password set by the admin. Set password that will be required when deleting an agent.
• Always Allow: The user of the agent can delete the agent.
• Always Deny: The user of the agent cannot delete the agent. If set to Always Deny, a message stating that you cannot delete the agent will appear when you try to delete the agent from Add/Remove Programs.

• Log Retention: Set the log retention period and the size of the storage space for agent that occurred from HIPS agent.
• Log Storage Period: The period of how long you will store the occurred log. You can enter a value between 1 and 30 for the retention period. (Default: 30)
• Log Storage Quota: The size of the storage for the occurred log. You can enter a value between 100 and 1024 for the storage size. (Default: 100)

4. Click Save.
