Network Engine Settings
You can configure how the network engine’s packet will
be processed so that IPS and firewall operates efficiently in accordance
with the current network situation.
You can check the following in Network Engine:

Network Engine
Follow the steps below to configure network engine:
- Click Policy.
- Select the Security Program
Policy tab.
- Click Add > HIPS/Firewall
> HIPS Agent Policy.
- Click Network Engine. Set required
information in Network Engine.
- Packet Processing: Select the packet processing
mode of network engine when operating IPS or firewall feature.
- Inline: Directly
receive and process the packet. This is the commonly available method.
- Tap: Copy and separately
process the packet. This method can minimize delay to reduce traffic,
but proceeds with detection without blocking.
- Bypass: This process
method bypasses the network engine in case of emergency such as engine
error and operation failures.
- Enable Oversubscription: Select this method
to safely process the packet using packet forwarding if the number
of transmitted packets exceeds the process capacity threshold of IPS.
- Click Save.
