Software Management
Specify the policies for software management policies
while creating software policies. You can specify the required/prohibited
software settings, software patch, and action settings in software management.
Required Software
You can specify the required software if you have obligatory or necessary
software for work. You can specify the required software as follows:
- Select Policy/Advanced
Rule.
- Select the Policy
tab.
- Click Add.
- Click Add > Software
Policy.
- Click Add Software Policy
> Software Management.
- Move to the Required Software
tab. Check the list of required software.
- Add:
Adds the required software. Click Add
o specify the required information in <Add Required Software>.
- Modify: Edits the added required software.
Click the required item in the list and then modify the required information.
- Type: Type specified when adding a software.
Type has single and group.
- Software Name: Shows the name of software.
- Default SW: Default software specified when
adding a required software. When adding a required software, you can
specify the default software in case that the software is added in
group.
- Action: You can select the one of following
actions for the required software; Allow, Alert
the user, Install via APM.
- Installation File: Registers the installation
file when the installation using APM is selected.
You can add the required software as follows:
- Configure the required settings in <Add Required
Software>.
- Type: Select Single for adding an individual
software program. Or search and add by group for installing all software
programs.
- You can add a single software program, one
by one, if necessary.
- Group: Adds software programs by group. Ex)
Enter ‘AhnLab’ in the search field, and then add the searched software
programs to the list of required software. When adding a software
by group, specify the default software. If the software registered
by group is not installed, the default software will be installed.
If the default software is installed, it will be regarded as software
uninstalled.
- Select Software: Software displays the all
software programs registered or the software programs created in Set SW Type under Management
> Software Status.
You can search for the software by entering the part of software name
in the list.
- Action: If the required software is not installed,
notify the user by sending a notice or install through APM.
- Allow: Even if the required software is not
installed, let the agent stay in the current status.
- Send Notice: Sends a notice to the agent PC
when the required software is not installed.
- Install via APM: Installs the required software
suing APM if not installed.
Note
The file should be registered in the server to install
via APM.
- Installation File: Select the installation
file when the installation using APM is selected. The distribution
package file registered in Management > Distribution Package is shown
in the installation file.
- Click OK.
Prohibited Software
Specify the illegal software violating the security policy or not having
a valid license as a prohibited software. You can specify the prohibited
software as follows:
- Select Policy/Advanced
Rule.
- Select the Policy
tab.
- Click Add.
- Click Add > Software
Policy.
- Click Add Software Policy
> Software Management.
- Move to the Prohibited
Software tab. Check the list of prohibited software.
- Add:
Adds the prohibited software. Click Add
to specify the required information in <Add Prohibited Software>.
- Modify: Edits the added prohibited software.
Click the required item in the list and then modify the required information.
- Software Name: Shows the name of software.
- Action: You can select the one of following
actions for the required software; Allow, Send
Notice.
You can add the prohibited software as follows:
- Configure the required settings in <Add Prohibited
Software>.
- Select Software: Software displays the all
software programs registered or the software programs created in Set SW Type under Management
> Software Status.
You can search for the software by entering the part of software name
in the list.
- Action: If the prohibited software is installed,
you can either allow or send notice.
- Allow: Even if the prohibited software is not
installed, let the agent stay in the current status.
- Send Notice: Sends a notice to the agent PC
when the required software is not installed.
- Click OK.
Software Patch
Registers the software patch files. You can register the software patch
files as follows:

Before adding the software patch, select Management
> Software Status
to move to Set Software Type and then categorize
the software types, or register the patch files for the required software
from Management > Distribution
Package.
- Select Policy/Advanced
Rule.
- Select the Policy
tab.
- Click Add.
- Click Add > Software
Policy.
- Click Add Software Policy
> Software Management.
- Move to Software Patch.
Check the list of software patches.
- Add: Adds the software patches. Click Add and then select the
patch software from <Add Software Patch> to register
the patch files.
- Modify: Edits the added software patches. Click
the required item in the list and then modify the required information.
- Software Name: Name of software for the patches.
- Patch File Name: Name of patch file. The patch
file name is the one registered in Management
> Distribution Package.
Options
You can configure the options for software management. If the required
software is not installed or prohibited software is installed, send a
notice to the agents. You can specify the options as follows:
- Select Policy/Advanced
Rule.
- Select the Policy
tab.
- Click Add.
- Click Add > Software
Policy.
- Click Add Software Policy
> Software Management.
- Move to the Options
tab. Specify the required settings for options.
- Alert the user with a message if software management
policy is violated: Specify whether to send a notification message
to the agent PC when the required software is not installed or prohibited
software is installed. If Send Notice is selected to control the required
or prohibited software, it will be displayed on the agent PC. You
can enter up to 23 Korean or 50 English characters per line. The maximum
number of lines that can be entered are 5.

- Download Time Settings: Configure the time
settings to allow or prohibit the file download from the agent. You
can configure the settings not to allow download during working time
as the system overload due to software installation or network overload
is expected. If the option is selected,
the time for the patch download can be configured. If the option is
not selected, the download time is not restricted.
- Prohibited time: If the download prohibited
time is configured, the patch download will not be done during the
specified period. Patch files can be downloaded except for the specified
prohibited period.
- Allowed time: If the download allowed time
is configured, the patch download will be done during the specified
period. Patch files cannot be downloaded except for the specified
allowed time.
- Interval: The interval can be daily/weekly/monthly,
and added up to 5 for the download time interval.
- Installation file download speed limit: Select
the option to restrict the network traffic for patch installation.
The available bandwidth range is 100 to 2048 KB. (Default: 200 KB)
- Click Save.
- Configure a target to apply the policies from
<Add Policy>. Select the target and then click OK to immediately
apply the polices to the target.
Note
If you click OK without selecting a target from <Add
Policy>, the settings will be saved without applying the policies.
