Adding Local Update Server Policy
Create the policy to manage the local update server.
Add Local Update Server
Policy provides the following
information:
- Default Settings
for local update server
- Update Settings
for local update server
To add a local update server:
- On the top of the web page, click Policy/Advanced
Rules.
- Select the Policy
tab.
- Click Add.
- Click Add > Local Update
Server Policy.
- Set the Default Settings
and Update Settings.
- To save the settings, click Save.
- In <Add Policy>, set the policy name and
target to apply the policy.
- Name: The local update
server policy name.
- Target: The target
to apply the local update server. Enter the Computer
Name or IP Address to search for
the targets to apply the policy.
- Description: The
policy description.
- Click OK.
- The message, "Are
you sure you want to apply the policy to the selected target?",
will appear. Click Yes to apply the policy,
and if not, click No.
Note
Click Change Policy Target
to change the target.
- Go to Policy/Advanced
Rules > Policy > Local Update Server Policy to check the policy
application status.
Set the default settings to manage the local update server.
Note
The update items that have been synchronized in EPP server
and update server will be updated at the set operation cycle.
- Update Item and Operation Cycle: The item to
update via the local update server and the update cycle.
- Security Program
Installation Package: The security program installation package in
Security Program. Enter between
5 and 1440 minutes for the update cycle. (Default: 30 minutes)
- Software: The software
package in Package Distribution.
Enter between 5 and 1440 minutes for the update cycle. (Default: 30
minutes)
- Engine/Security Program
Update: The V3 engine and security program update. Enter between 5
and 1440 minutes for the update cycle. (Default: 30 minutes)
- Agent Installation
File: The agent installation file in Agent
Installation File. Enter between 5 and 1440 minutes for the update
cycle. (Default: 30 minutes)
- Bandwidth Settings: Limit bandwidth to reduce
EPP server's load when synchronizing or updating the local update
server.
- File Distribution:
Set the bandwidth for the local update server to provide download
service for the agent in KB.
- Update: Set the bandwidth
to reduce the EPPM server's load when the local update server downloads
files from the EPP server in KB.
Set the update method for the local update server.
- General Settings: Select whether to use the
automatic update and set the update interval.
- Use automatic update:
Communicate with the server at the set update interval.
- Update interval:
Set the interval to communicate with the server. Enter between 1 and
24 hours. (Default: 3 hours)
- Update Options: Set the update options.
- Number of retry attempts:
Set the number of update retry attemps. Enter between 1 and
99. (Default: 15 times)
